On the 13th of October 2023, the Department of Management at Christ College, Pune, organized an insightful Guest Lecture on the topic of "Companies Act, 2013". The lecture aimed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the key provisions and regulations outlined in the Companies Act, 2013. The session was conducted by the esteemed Assistant Professor, Siju Mathew.

The guest lecture on the "Companies Act of 2013" by Asst. Prof Siju Mathew on 13th October 2023 covered:

1. Background and Objectives:

• Replaced the 1956 Act, modernizing company regulations.
• Objective: Align Indian laws with global standards for transparency and governance.

2. Act's Objectives:

• Promote responsible business practices and sustainability.
• Enhance corporate governance, transparency, and accountability.
• Safeguard stakeholders' interests.

3. Company Formation Procedures:

• Obtain Director Identification Number (DIN) and Digital Signature Certificate (DSC).
• Reserve a unique company name.
• Draft and file Memorandum of Association (MOA) and Articles of Association (AOA).
• Obtain licenses and permissions.

4. MOA and AOA:

• MOA: Specifies company name, objectives, and registered office.
• AOA: Defines internal rules, shareholder rights, and director responsibilities.
